Hi! I'm Rachel Rushing and have lived in the Fultondale and Gardendale area my entire life. I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist, Licensed Neuromuscular Therapist, Licensed Esthetician and owner of Soothing Palms Therapeutic Massage. I specialize in sports therapy and hold certificates in Neuromuscular, Myofascial Release, Cupping, Ashiatsu, Swedish and Deep Tissue massage modalities. I offer more than fifteen years experience working in spas and medical facilities as well as experience in college athletic programs. I have traveled throughout the southeast educating other specialists on plant based skin care products and facial massage techniques. I enjoy using my training to encourage one's body to repair and heal itself.
I'm a wife, mom of two boys, entrepreneur, and a Gardendale resident. I like to spend my free time outdoors with family, in the garden, running, or at the pool.

My name is Kayla Bagwell! I live in Gardendale. I graduated from Gardendale High School in 2014. I got my undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama in Consumer Sciences in 2018, and am graduating from Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Nick, who is a physical therapist here in Gardendale. We are expecting our first child this fall!
Being an esthetician has always been a dream of mine, and it wasn’t until I started struggling with my own skin that I decided to make that dream a reality. My goal in being an esthetician is to help my clients feel beautiful in their own skin by customizing services and curating home care regimens that benefit each individual’s skin.

Swedish massage therapy is the modality that comes to mind when most people think about massage. One of the primary goals of Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension
Therapeutic massage encompasses deep tissue, trigger point/neuromuscular therapy or a combination of the two. Deep tissue massage focuses on deep pressure that is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia. Trigger point massage therapy is specially designed to alleviate the source of pain through cycles of isolated pressure and release. Therapeutic massage is extremely beneficial for pain relief, better blood flow and relaxation.
Myofascial Release is useful for treating muscle immobility and pain by relaxing contracted muscles, improving blood and lymphatic circulation and stimulating the muscles. The focused manual pressure and stretching used in myofascial release therapy loosens up restricted movement, leading indirectly to reduced pain.
Prenatal massage is the therapeutic bodywork that focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic changes of Pregnancy. It enhances the functions of the muscles and joints, improves circulation and general body tone, and relieves mental and physical fatigue.
Postpartum
Postpartum massage can be as important and beneficial as massage during pregnancy. It promotes quicker recovery and better health. Integration of maternal body work will add welcome value to your healing journey and transition to motherhood.
